Our ESIT (Early Support for Infants and Toddlers) Team is hiring a Director to head up our ESIT program supporting children birth to three and their families! Join our team and our mission as we partner with families to build healthy foundations and a community where all children thrive.
 
You will be joining a team that is focused on holistic, wrap-around care to meet the critical individual needs of the developing child and support for the family. You will be guiding a team of providers offering multidisciplinary care in a community that connects with, encourages, and builds relationships with one another.
 

SCOPE: The Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) Program Director oversees the ESIT Program, a program that supports children with developmental delays from ages birth to three. The ESIT Program Director will work with program supervisors to ensure a well-managed program that maintains a staff culture in keeping with Encompass values, expectations, and the Strategic Plan.  The ESIT Program Director will ensure that the program components are delivered with respect to each family’s home language, culture, and values, and supports parents through a strength-based primary coaching model.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day to day operations of the ESIT program, including program direction; performance management; fiscal management; grant compliance; data collection and accountability; project management and general administration.
  • Create an environment that supports the delivery of high-quality and collaborative ESIT services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and compliance with all ESIT Program contracts and HIPAA requirements.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and practices to ensure that Encompass offers services that are of highest quality and supported by research. 
  • Develop and manage the ESIT Program budget.
  • Supervise and support program staff supervisors, and/or direct service staff in the absence of supervisor staff as they carry out individual responsibilities.
  • Manage collection of data for reporting and billing purposes. Design and direct outcome evaluation processes and oversee all documentation tracking systems.
  • Attend and represent Encompass at county interagency meetings, state interagency meetings and other collaborative early childhood and healthcare focused meetings.
  • Engage in advocacy and other work groups focused on priority issues as determined by the Encompass Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate with other program leaders in the organization to ensure good communication, efficient operations, and effective programs.
  • Communicate frequently and cultivate strong working relationships with all staff, community partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the array of Encompass programs and services to support ESIT team’s connection with the overall mission of Encompass.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Combination of education and relevant experience - minimum five years’ experience working in or connected with ESIT and/or Pediatric Therapy program. 
  • Experience and passion for working with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
  • Strong leadership skills – 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ESIT including the King County Developmental Disabilities and Early Childhood Supports Division, Washington State Department of Children Youth and Families and Part C of the IDEA.
  • Understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging best practices and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with diverse staff and communities of color.  Demonstrated knowledge, understanding in one or more of the following areas of professional +/or lived experience:  LGBTQIA+ , Racial equity, BIPOC families, Multi-racial identity, Immigrant families,  Gen Z & Millennial BIPOC parents, Neurodiversity, and disability justice.
  • Strong understanding of child development and clinical services.
  • Ability to give unbiased guidance and collaboration to families and coworkers.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree (Bachelors or greater) preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Adaptive Leadership model/Systems Thinking.
  • Bilingual and/or Bicultural (English/Spanish).
 
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES:
  • Initial Family Resource Coordinator and ESIT Administration training required.
  • Must have valid current Washington State Driver’s License and vehicle.
  • Child/Infant CPR; First Aid; Blood Borne Pathogens.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work is conducted in a clinical office environment.  Incumbent may have some physical requirements associated with working with children and may come into contact with bodily fluid.
